Everybody in the Group Chat Dies

My new novel, Everybody in the Group Chat Dies is out in the UK on the 13th March 2025.

I was thinking about one of my favourite films, Alfred Hitchcock’s brilliant Rear Window, and I wondered what would happen if you saw a murder out of your window in the 21st century – you’d probably pull out your phone and start filming it, wouldn’t you?

Then I thought about the one of the most famous ‘rear windows’ of the last 20 years, the one in Monica and Rachel’s apartment in Friends.

So what would happen if the cast of Friends witnessed a murder?

That was the germ of the idea that turned into Everyone in the Group Chat Dies – which evolved into a cross between Friends and I Know What You Did Last Summer (with a touch of the folk-horror of The Wicker Man).

It’s the story of local journalist Kirby Cornell and her friends, and what happens when they try to use social media to find their missing flatmate. If you liked Don’t Swipe Right, then I think you’ll enjoy the mix of dark humour and serial killer thrills…
